Their hands are structurally like a human hand, but they are typically more slender, with long, curved nails. Unlike humans they are much more slender and quick with a vast array of hair and eye colors of almost any combination. They are a bit smaller than the average person, not particularly strong and mainly look quite human like. However, they do have enhanced agility, and an unnaturally high charisma. Their heads are actually more rounded, making them appear more youthful, which is often considered desirable and attractive, earning them points in societies that would normally discredit them as thieves. Nekos typically present as what is considered to be 'feminine' regardless of their biological sex, although it is not particularly rare to see one presenting as masculine.\r\n[br]\r\n[br]\r\nVocalizations\r\n[br]\r\nPurr - An expression of pleasure or comfort.\r\n[br]\r\nHiss - An expression of displeasure or anger.\r\n[br]\r\nSnarl - An expression of aggression.\r\n[br]\r\nLow-pitch Growl - An expression warning. \"You don't want this.\"\r\n[br]\r\nStrong Sigh - An expression of frustration in the form of a strong sigh or an exhaled snort.\r\n[br]\r\nMeow - Comes in a variety of sounds, with meanings of broad variation. Commonly used for communication with outside creatures, or when body language is not viable. The following examples are the most commonly used, and can vary from one breed to another.\r\n[br]\r\n\"Greeting\" Meow - A low meow or chirp, possibly with simultaneous purring; a happy hello.\r\n[br]\r\n\"Attention\" Meow - An expression of desire for attention.\r\n[br]\r\n\"Hunger\" Meow - An expression of desire for food.\r\n[br]\r\n\"Outside\" Meow - An expression of desire for fresh air. Borders on conversational, except it's usually just repeating the same line. Used as a form of self-entertainment (when bored) and also for expressing insistence when they want something.\r\n[br]\r\n[br]\r\nEye Gestures\r\n[br]\r\nStaring - Asserting and threatening. If visual eye-to-eye contact is made, this is seen as a return of the assertion. Blinking during this is a reassurance that there is no dispute. Breaking eye contact and looking away is a sign of respect. Avoiding even making eye contact is an attempt to avoid the conflict.\r\n[br]\r\nFluttering Eyes - Expressing complacence, or just being in a sleepy mood.\r\n[br]\r\nPartially Closed Eyes - Expressing contentedness and trust. Comfortable and trusting enough of their company to sleep. Only holds this intended meaning when they're not actually asleep.\r\n[br]\r\nFully Closed Eyes - Expressing full trust and\/or contentedness. Seldom if ever used as an intentional signal by the character.\r\n[br]\r\n[br]\r\nHead\r\n[br]\r\nHead Rub\/Head Bump\/Nuzzle - A cheerful greeting. The reason for the contact from the Neko's point of view is to mingle and share scents to create a family atmosphere and environment.\r\n[br]\r\nChin Rub\/Chin Bump\/Chin Nuzzle - Body language expressing territorial marking. \"I like this, and this is Mine!\" being the message.\r\n[br]\r\nNose-to-nose Touch - A kiss.\r\n[br]\r\nHead Held Low - Aggressive posture.\r\n[br]\r\nHead Held Back - Reaction in displeasure.\r\n[br]\r\nSelf Nose or Upper lip Lick - Natural tic expressing uncertainty, or reconsidering.\r\n[br]\r\nMouth-open Sniff - Analyzing and savoring scent signals in the air. Seldom used by truly Domestic Nekos, but usable by all for tracking.\r\n[br]\r\nLips Retracted Bared Teeth - Full aggression.\r\n[br]\r\nYawn - Indicates stress, ambivalence, and sometimes preparedness for action.\r\n[br]\r\nGently Nibbling A Sleeper's Ear - An affectionate way a Neko can say \"Wake up\". Generally used only for those they consider close family.\r\n[br]\r\nPurring Nip - An expression of playfulness.\r\n[br]\r\nNose Point - Expressing the direction of one's attention in a specific direction by \"pointing\" with the nose in that direction with a head swivel.\r\n[br]\r\n[br]\r\nBody\r\n[br]\r\nBody Rub\/Body Bump\/Body Nuzzle - A cheerful greeting. This is pre-fight Neko body language or a way of avoiding a full blown fight. It can be used as a confident or fearful expression. A confident Neko tries to appear larger. The Neko stretches their back legs fully and their back becomes arched.\r\n[br]\r\n\"Direct Attack\" Approach - An aggressive offensive approach.\r\n[br]\r\n\"Sideways Attack\" Approach - A defensive approach used for \"Fight or Flight\" mode, often used in tandem with the arched back for maximum effect.\r\n[br]\r\nFalling on Side - Indicates submission, can also be indicative of being unwilling to put up a fight.\r\n[br]\r\nSprawling Out - Relaxation.\r\n[br]\r\nRoll Over - An invitation to physical contact.\r\n[br]\r\nKneading - An expression of pleasure, comfort, gratitude.
