Literomantic Games July 2025
The Literomantic Games are an international competition of Literomancy sponsored by the Great Houses for the Tourney of Tales and the Word Wars!
To do this, we are having each House enter their work in the same spreadsheet. No more having to hunt down the form.
Each tab in the spreadsheet represents one of the events in LitGames. An example of how to enter your information is in each tab.
The biggest change for events is Filking. Each filk entered will gain your team 31 points. You entered = you get the points when you enter the filk. At the end of the LitGames we’ll announce the judging of the filks, but they won’t be point-based.

Can I enter a thing in more than one category?
Yes, if it fits in more than one category, go for it! For example, if you did an article and it had a Word of the Day or Short Prompt. Cool! Mark it for both!
Can I use a transcribed article? (For example: creating an article for an already written filk or adding to an established universe wiki with already created material)
Yes. (Shy: I'd originally said no. But Sable and I had to chat about it. I don't want to penalize people for doing a public service. So I'm reversing my ruling to allow it.)
Can I put a number in the cell to count more than one thing (like 3 RP sessions)?
Nope. Each spreadsheet cell counts as 1 point (with the exception of the Filking event). So you'd use 3 cells to count those roleplay sessions. Participants may earn up to 30 or 31 points (equal to the number of days in the event month) for each event for their House.
For the group writing, does the other person or people have to be people from Game of Tomes?
Nope! Enjoy your collaborations outside of GoT too!
Do the entries have to be entered on specific days corresponding to the date on the spreadsheet?
Nope. The only thing that needs to be counted daily is the word count. You can mark off days or just count up the days. Everything else can be done at any point in the Tourney.
1
Points are based on how many days the participant wrote 444 or more words.
444 is the minimum number of words to keep your streak going in 4theWords.
This needs to be counted by DAY.
2
Points are based on how many of the given prompt words were used.
Multiple stories are allowed and using all the prompts in a single story is allowed.
No minimum word count.
Prompt list at the bottom of the page.
3
Points are based on how many of the given prompts were used.
Multiple stories are allowed and using all the prompts in a single story is allowed.
No minimum word count.
Prompt list at the bottom of the page.
4
Points are based on how many poems the participant wrote.
All poetry types are allowed.
No minimum word count.
5
Points are based on how many articles the participant wrote.
Minimum of 300 words.
Must represent a complete idea or thought, even if not finished.
May be on World Anvil or any other posting medium (including newsletters, guest posts, blogs, etc.).
May be on any topic (worldbuilding, author tips, etc.) and may include short stories for flavor and interest.
This may be a great way to start a backlog of articles to jumpstart your own blog...
6
Points are based on how many short stories or story snippets (bits for a story later) the participant wrote.
Flash fiction length, 100-1500 words.
7
Points are based on how many times the participant spent at least half an hour doing something creative that was not writing.
You wild with this and do something that energizes you.
Count each half an hour.
8
Points are based on how many times the participant spent between 10-60 minutes doing role play.
In person and written RP count.
Count each hour, separate session or RP thread on Discord. (If you RPed in 2 Discord threads for 10 minutes each - that counts as 2. If you spent 3 hours doing RP in person - that counts as 3. The goal here is to encourage RP and rack up points.)
9
Points are based on how many times the participant spent at least 10 minutes doing group writing on a project together. (As long as you are writing WITH someone on the same project together, it counts. It can be at the same time or taking turns on a document.)
All types of writing count (stories, scriptwriting, filking, etc.).
Count each 10 minutes. Did you co-write for 30 minutes? That counts as 3.
10
Automatically gives the full points for the event for a completed filk.
1 filk only may be entered per person.
You may joint write and joint enter - but the entry is still the 1 entry for the joint participants.
You must provide a link to the filk for it to be counted.
Filks will be judged by Bard.
Game Details
The Games are divided into ten equally-weighted events. The House with the most points relative to their population at the end of the Games wins the Literomantic Cup*. Entrants are encouraged to participate in any/all events that interest them. There will be a maximum of 31 points for each event per participant. For the Filk event, entrants will only be allowed 1 entry that counts the 31 points for the entry. Points are automatically calculated.NEW for July 2025!
We’ve got auto calculations set up this time!Entery Forms for Each House

*No physical prizes are awarded for the Literomantic Games. All rewards are digital and/or fictional in nature.
Credit goes to Foxx for the original idea. Senna Nightshade hosted the original LitGames and created the events. Shy and Bard have used many of Senna's original events, with a few modifications. Prompts for Word of the Day and Short Prompts for the July 2025 LitGames were made by The Bard with Many Names. Princess ShyRedFox created the new House entry and auto tally forms.
