You are an Elemental
You have immunity to Fire damage and vulnerability to Cold damage.
Your body glows faintly, like a flickering candle. As an action, you can cause your body to flare with fiery light, illuminating the area around you with bright light in a 10- foot radius and dim light for an additional 10 feet. The light remains for 1 minute, or until you use an action to extinguish it.
Phoenixborn value both their fiery heritage and the cycles of life and death. They keep and teach magical traditions that illustrate these commitments as well. You know the produce flame cantrip. Starting at 3rd level, you can cast the cure wounds spell with this trait. Starting at 5th level, you can also cast the scorching ray spell with this trait, without requiring a material component. Once you cast cure wounds or scorching ray with this trait, you can’t cast that spell with it again until you finish a long rest. You can also cast either of those spells using any spell slots you have of the appropriate level.
Intelligence, Wisdom, or Charisma is your spellcasting ability for these spells when you cast them with this trait (choose when you select this race).
If you fail your final death saving and die, your body explodes. Each creature in a 15ft radius sphere centered on you must make a Dexterity saving throw equal to 8 + your Constitution modifier + Proficiency bonus, taking 2d10 fire damage on a failed save, or half as much on a successful one. The fire ignites flammable objects in the area that aren’t being work or carried.
The explosion destroys your former body leaving behind an egg-shaped cinder, which weighs, 1 pound. The cinder (2d6) fire damage to any creature that touches it, though no more than once per round. The cinder is immune to all damage, and after 1d6 days hatches and resurrects you back to a phoenixborn chick. If you hatch in primordial flame and remain submerged for 3 days your body rapidly grows to the size and maturity you were before you died.
Phoenixborn worship an elder phoenix as a goddess and, as a reward, she granted them the gift of resembling her majesty. Those of phoenixborn ancestry resemble humans-like bodies with a feathery crest on the top and backs of heir heads of red, yellow, and orange feathers with beaked mouths. They also have small feathers on the sides of their arms and legs. Finally, their eyes glow like torches in a dark room.
Phoenixborn communities are found within the Jarus Manse around volcanically active mountainous regions. These communities are known for worshipping an elder Phoenix who was born in the early days of Arcanus who adopt clerical and cultural traditions that celebrate cycles of life, death, and rebirth.
