#23: The Gift of Tongues
Invented by: Ancestors
Type: Utility, Social
Complexity: High (C6)
We use it for: conversation, overcoming language barriers
Appearance: parchment-hued, with black streaks that morph through a variety of symbols, letters, and characters. Viscosity of quicksilver.
Taste: paper pulp.
Effect: endows the consumant with the ability to both understand and speak different languages. May be disorienting for those that have never learned more than a single language. Knowledge of the languages will fade as the draught wears off, with very little retained from the time of effect (if anything at all).
Notes
- 'It's like drinking a book', they said, and I thought it would be full of all sorts of wonderful flavors and feelings but NO it just tastes like someone puréed a textbook into a blender full of protein shake. DISGUSTING, 2/10 stars, would not try again. -Kitty
- Not every draught can taste like sugar and sweet things, dear. -Miqo
