First of all, thank you for considering the job! Our Night Monarchs are our MVPs. Without them, none of this is possible, and we love each of our NMs for it. We’re excited to see your election bid and will be cheering you on!

We want you to have as clear an idea as possible as to what you’re getting into before you commit. But we are also here to help.

Night Monarch is referred to as NM throughout the document.

How This Guide Came to Be

Many past NMs ended up severely burnt out after their run. The previous NM was supposed to help and guide the new one. But along the line the system broke and things were not passed along and there was no support for the current NM.
So Shy, Sable, Foxx, Bard, and Ru put this together to help future Night Monarchs and help you as a potential one to build your support team.
This document is a collection of advice from our experiences and some of our communications back and forth as we learned to work together as the “villains” and guides for the year’s story.

We've organized the document into sections, so it's easier to read and find things for reference later. Everything is in the linked article blocks below.

Declaring You're Running for Night Monarch

Please read the Night Monarch Care and Feeding Guide and check your plans with Sable and the NM support crew before declaring.
Share your declaration of intent in a results stream or the GoT Discord in the #night-monarch-election channel.
Have your NM Hero Forge links ready. After you declare, you'll be invited to the NM Support Server and Shy will have you post the links there.
Shy will post the candidates to the Tourney Page and Election page as quickly as she can. Only names and character images will be on the Tourney pages. All other election info will be posted to the election page.

The Night Monarch Timeline

We are putting it here for informational purposes only. When it's approved, we'll update the timeline if needed and make a note that the timeline is finalized.

NM candidacy announcements are open, prep for election month

April

Tourney of Tales (sometimes a bit of election promo to share your announcement)

July

Tourney of Tales + Election month (final results stream is the NM reveal)

Sept-Oct

Prep for upcoming Word War. Work on your lore plans with the NM Support Crew (Sable and former NMs)

November

Game of Tomes / Word War

December

Prep for Tomesmas video presentation (if and script(s) are ready for video)
