It's time to dive into Week 2's homework. It's time to start setting up. It's time to look at streamers and audio inputs. Remember you don't have to do all the homework to earn the badge at the end of the article.
Game of Tomes Streamers
Make a list of particitpating Game of Tomes streams you would like to hang out in while you're writing. Having it open in the background is perfectably acceptable. Game of Tomes lobby and Lady Wynter's streams are usually up for the entire month. But these aren't the only streams available. Find the one(s) who fit your vibes and the hours you will be writing.
Music Playlists
Do you like listening to music while you write? Now is the time to put together a couple of music playlists. A suggestion would be to have a general playlist to listen to no matter what you're writing and then have another playlist that is themed for your main writing project (i. e. your main project is writing a horror novel so the playlist you listen to includes a lot of dark and heavy music).
Other Audio Input
You may or may not be like me. Sometimes music doesn't always work as background noise while writing. Make a list of other audio inputs that work for you to get your writing done. Are there movies or TV shows that you like but aren't super distracting? Does hanging out in Discord VC with other writers help? It could be something as simple as green, pink, or brown noise (or whichever one works for you).
Sometimes silence is the answer. Do what you can to be in a silent environment. Going to the library has been a good trick for me when I've needed this. If this isn't possible, for whatever reason, you could use noise-cancelling headphones and ask not to be distracted unless it's an emergancy.
