After major writing events, do you feel like your space (author/creator-wise, mental, physical, or digital) is a bit out of control?
Join me in setting things straight again. No project is to big or too small for this challenge. It's about peace of mind. Let's get things in order so we'll be ready for Preptober's homework and November's big writing event! — Shyredfox
Welcome to our first annual organization challenge! In between the Tourneys and War events is the perfect time to catch up on those things you had to set aside until later because you were writing like the wind during events!
The Challenge will run September 1-30, 2025.
To Participate
Pick at least 1 area to organize. It can be author/creator-wise, mental, physical, or digital. This challenge is meant to be very chill. It's not meant to pressure you, only encourage! Try to post at least once a week.
What do I get for participating?
An awesome badge!

Ideas
Need a place to start? No pressure. Just sharing possibilities!
Writing/Author
put all your manuscript notes in one place
backup your mailing list contacts
setup an author/creator website (Carrd.co gives you 3 free single page sites) or make sure your current one is up to date
setup your newsletter or plan a newsletter issue
organize your worldbuilding
make a list of characters by first letter of their personal and family names (so you can see if you don't end up with too many names that start with the same letter or sound alike)
make a list of character traits and tells (how they react) so you can keep things consistent
Mental and Health
plan your day
create a way to capture your thoughts and future tasks (maybe in a bullet journal, notebook of sticky notes, or Notion database?)
pick a time to meditate
find a way to help yourself remember your meds or vitamins (should they go by your spot at the table?)
post a reminder to exercise or stretch
take time to relax and wind down
Physical
clear off your desk
organize your supplies (art, craft, journaling, whatever)
clean out a drawer or a set of them
get rid of any food in the fridge that's expired or bad
go through your socks - toss the ones with holes or that don't have a match
donate clothes that don't fit anymore
toss pens, paints, or markers that don't work anymore
go through your medicine cabinet and get rid of expired meds
does your car need to be cleaned out?
Digital
clean off your computer desktop
make a knowledge hub/library store and organize your information (research, notes, stuff to remember later, etc.) (Shy uses this paid Notion template by Mari Poulin.)
organize your browser bookmarks
go through your email(s) and unsubscribe and automate what you can
empty your recycle bin
clean out your downloads folder
see where you can clean up space on your hard drive
make or setup a routine backup or sign up for a backup / cloud service (like Google Drive or Dropbox)
organize your passwords and setup 2FA (Proton Pass is a free password manager that Shy uses and likes.)
