Tucked within the scenic embrace of Virginia’s mountainous landscape lies the quaint town of Saltville. Here, two queens reside—one a mere infant and the other a teenager who has just turned sixteen. Between their homes, atop a forested mountain, exists a camp where a mysterious portal connects to another planet. Beyond this gateway, a centuries-old war for Earth’s survival rages on. On the distant island of Grandel Isle, a dying queen clings to her last moments while the barrier which protects their world begins to fail. A new queen must rise to fulfill her destiny, but first, her Protector must be chosen. Tasked with not only guiding the reluctant young Queen to embrace her role, this Protector must also mend the fractures of his divided world. Only through unity—people and dragons together—can they confront the encroaching Darkness and its endless black army threatening to consume both Grandel Isle and Earth.
