Meles Malrani
Before the Woodland Family Alliance in November of 2022, the Meles Malrani (₼) was the only currency of the Meles Protectorate. The Woodlander Talon has now been added to legal tender currency and is printed alongside the Malrani.
Most Melesians feel an attachment to the Meles Protectorate bills because they're so pretty and tend to prefer the Malrani over the Talon simply for the aesthetics.

Notes
Meles Malrani notes used to be printed on pure cotton paper. In 2011, to cut down on counterfeiting, the Meles Mint switched to a polymer-based note that has a border of extremely thin titanium strips etched with invisible runes that track every being whose hands the notes pass through. Malrani notes come in denominations of 1, 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, and 1000₼.Coins
Coins are based on amounts of a 1/100th of a Malrani. So 100₼¢ equals 1₼. Denominations available are 5, 10, 25, and 50₼¢. The coins are each made of a different metal combination, so one can easily tell them apart by color.

I prefer using the Meles Malrani to pay for items. The design is beautiful, reflecting our heritage and the craftsmanship put into every aspect of Melesians' lives. Don't get me wrong, I love the Woodland Family Alliance and our Lapin and Ailurus neighbors. But at the next AllThing, I'm going to request a House Meles designer for the next Woodlander Talon redesign. Truth be told, I keep a watchful eye out for the most crisp ones and when I give my nieces cash for their birthdays, it's always in Malrani.
