The Cosmic Kraken

The Cosmic Kraken is the power associated with leadership of House Mollusca, and an often-used title for the same. The first Cosmic Kraken is typically referred to as the Cosmic One. There is some debate as to whether Coffee Quills was themself this first Cosmic Kraken, and a small group of followers of this belief began banding together after their disappearance at the end of The Third Word War. In classic Molluscan fashion, the reality is uncertain and remains a closely held secret. Whomever they were, it is widely understood that the first Cosmic Kraken arrived on Earth sometime during the neolithic era, made their home in the Zafforza Trench, and founded House Mollusca.   Whether the first Cosmic Kraken was Coffee Quills or an elder Cosmic One, they found a way to pass their Cosmic powers forward, and through some combination with the Literomancers, aquatic creatures, and other humans, we have the Molluscans of today. The Cosmic Kraken-Coffee Quills was at the least themself a direct descendent of the first Cosmic One, but likely, so are many others. We know that the Cosmic Kraken powers were activated in Coffee Quills' named heir and nephew, Scion Starborn Striker during the Third Word War, but he struggled to control them, and as of May 2025, has been radio silent for some time. The same or similar rite seems to have been used by the Molluscan Aster Prime on JaySeaBoom during her coronation in October of 2024, immediately prior to the The Fifth Word War.
