Beansidhe (BAN-shee, ban-SHEE / ˈbæn ʃi, bænˈʃi /)
Beansidhe
Beansidhe is the well-loved horizontal family member of Queen Sable Aradia, who inheirited her after the death of Siobhan the Writer, the former Queen of House Chiroptera. She is well known, and loved, by those in the Lapin Protectorate.
Mental characteristics
Personal history
Beansidhe was born just before the The First Word War, and had chosen Siobhan the Writer to be her person before she was weened, coming over and climbing in her lap as soon as she was able to do so.
Some members of House Chiroptera remember Siobhan reminiscing that her name came about because she was whining every time a name was suggested, until Siobhan told her "Oh, you're just my little Beansidhe, aren't you?" whereupon Beansidhe stopped whining and gave a happy puppy grin.
She gained fame for her insistence on sitting on Siobhan's lap while she was streaming and writing, long after she was too big to be a lap dog. She also had a tendency to get annoyed if Siobhan was ignoring her in favor of writing while streaming, and would go under her desk and knock the plug out, turning off the computer and prematurely ending the stream.
She further earned her reputation as a guardian and loyal companion by seeking out Queen Sable, when Siobhan was gravely injured in a confrontation with The Company after The Second Word War.
Where else would she go? I'm Auntie.Since Siobhan's death and her subsequent adoption by Queen Sable, she has been seen as a regular on "Mama Bunny's Wartime Kitchen" and is well-known in The Warren and the surrounding area.
Personality Characteristics
Likes & Dislikes
Beansidhe loves food and pets, not necessairly in that order.
She loves meeting new people, provided they are not undead, and eagerly greats anyone she meets with a wagging tail and a doggy grin. (With the exception of unknown persons entering the private areas of the Warren without a known family member, then she barks to alert her family there are intruders.)
She enjoys trips to the dog park, and basking outside in the sun.
Unlike most dogs, Beansidhe loves cats, and gets along well with the feline members of the Lapin royal family.
Beansidhe has an intense fear of 'sky dogs' aka thunder. She dislikes rain intently, and will insist on coming inside if the garden is being watered. This makes bath time a bit of a challenge.
Virtues & Personality perks
Beansidhe is extremely sweet natured, and genuinely affectionate to her family and anyone they vouch for. While she enjoys rough and tumble play, with growls an outsider might think vicious, she is extremely gentle-mouthed during play, and stops instantly if the person she is playing with says "Ouch!" or "Nice."
Although not formally trained as such, Beansidhe is extremely sensitive to the mental and emotional health of her family members, often acting as an emotional support animal. She refused to leave Queen Sable's side during her illness unless shooed away by doctors. She seems to know when playing with a puppy would help cheer someone up, or when cuddles are what is needed. It doesn't hurt that her happy grin is incredibly infectious.
Vices & Personality flaws
Beansidhe, while adorable, can be a bit of a drama queen, whining exaggeratedly over the slightest discomfort or lack of immediate response to a request for play.
She also has to frequently be reminded that it is rude to beg, and that her family remembers "The Ancient Pact" and will share a portion of their food after they have finished eating.

Quotes & Catchphrases
Everybody loves Beansidhe.
You know, I was terrified of dogs when I first came to The Cavern. Wouldn't even walk past a fence if there was a dog barking on the other side. Once Queen Siobhan reassured her that I was supposed to be there, Beansidhe decided that she didn't like my being afraid of her, and made a concerted effort to befriend me. She realized I didn't understand Dog body language, so made a point of slowly exaggerating it, so I could learn, and didn't growl at me even when we were playing until she was sure I could tell the difference between a play growl and a real one.
