Glitterbalm
Glitterbalms are literomantically powered bath bombs. They are sold at many specialty stores throughout the Realm, as well as being a fun craft project some literomancers like to engage in during their spare time. The name is a deliberate play on Glitterbomb.
Construction
As with their non-literomantic equivalents, glitterbalms can be made both by small businesses that have refined their recipes, or any literomancer who has the right skillset. The standard base design is much the same as an ordinary bath bomb: epsom salts and baking soda, frequently bound by witch hazel as it evaporates without leaving any noticeable scent. Some popular varieties add a more aromatic essential oil afterward, and set them in molds to make fancy shapes. What makes a glitterbalm different from a regular bath bomb is the shell of illusory glitter blended with just enough of the supply from The Glitter Mines to activate the literomantic spell at its core. This spell is designed to convey a particular effect based on the intent of the maker. This effect is closer to a burst of projective empathy than a true healing aid. The essential oils chosen for the body of the glitterbalm are selected to amplify this effect. This illusory glitter lasts for a predetermined period of time before dissipating. The colour and length of time this glittery effect lasts depends on the variety and the maker. Licensed businesses in each Protectorate produce glitterbalms for sale and choose unique molds for the final shape. For example, the location in Penheart Square is known for their whimsical space-themed glitterbalms.WIP
