The LRG Trainer deftly removes the Litroball from the child's hand.   Partners never treat a LitMon with such disrespect. When you have grown up more, you may reapply. Just remember, three strikes and you're out permanently. This is strike one.

    Developed by LitMon Research Group (LRG), Litroballs are the fastest way to catch a LitMon, or for that matter, any Literomantic creature.   Once you've caught your quarry, you need to befriend it, or it will run away and be harder to catch the next time.       Your local roving LRG representative will be happy to take your Litroball application with them when they return to LRG headquarters. Reps are constantly on the move between the field and HQ, so it won't be long until your application is submitted.    

Types

Here's a sampling of Litroball types. They are best used on the same type of LitMon. Otherwise, there's a much smaller chance of catching it.   Plain Litroballs may be used on all LitMon types. Though the rarer the type of LitMon, the less chance you have of catching it with a plain ball. (See the Upgrade Rings section.)      

Usage

Litroballs are mysterious works of Literomancy. The wielder throws them at the LitMon of their choice. If the Litroball comes within 1 cm of the creature, it will open and try to capture the LitMon. Depending on the abilities, the particular morph of the LitMon, and some luck, the ball may suck the LitMon into a pocket dimension. After a LitMon is captured, a button with the LitMon's name appears on the Litroball. (This way you can tell which balls are occupied by what LitMon.)   Don't worry. The LitMon isn't harmed in any way and may be retrieved by pressing the button and saying the LitMon's name.   LRG's lawyers consulted with the powers that be about capturing sapient creatures. The advice from the international law group was that the LitMon need to have a choice about whether or not they go into a Litroball. So the LRG ensured that the LitMon can refuse. Also the pocket dimensions are a benefit to the LitMon because they track the LitMon's health and give them minor buffs for Morphing. The LRG also insists that interactions with other sapient beings outside their species increase the LitMon's overall intelligence.  

Upgrade Rings

During your adventures as you hunt for LitMon, you may encounter rewards and drops, which may include Upgrade Rings for your Litroballs.   The most common is the Basic type, and the rarest is the Gold Crystal. Each type has a bonus rating. Take the bonus rating and multiply it by 10% to get the percentage increase that you'll be able to catch the LitMon with the ball (assuming you can throw it in range).

Video Game Adaptation

Since its release in 2020, the LitMon adventure video game has only grown in popularity. The player goes on adventures around the world to catch, catalog, and help their LitMon grow and make friends. It's such a positive and wholesome game that almost every household has copies. What kid doesn't dream of becoming a LitMon Partner?  

Litroball theft!

In 2023, LRG reported a possible theft of a large but undisclosed number of Litroballs with trackers removed. If you find them, please return them to LRG for a lifetime supply of every type of Litroball and 10 of the best Upgrade Bands.   It is feared that the stolen Litroballs may be corrupted, so don't use them! LRG has refused further comment.
