In a far-distant future, on a world once untouched and pure, technology and sorcery have become one. They call it Manatech—a fusion of engineered machinery and Mana, the raw essence of life that pulses through the universe and serves as the foundation of all magic. The Manatech revolution was born of ambition—unrelenting, godlike ambition. It began with one man:
Azriel Thermydor, the first and only Emperor of the Holy Thermydorian Empire. A figure cloaked in myth. To some, a real and terrifying sovereign. To others, nothing more than a phantom whispered in fairy tales. But myth or man, Azriel’s will carved its mark into history. Under his Empire, the continent of Victoria was brought to heel. And though many accepted the rule of the Holy Thermydorian Empire—whether by loyalty or by blade—not all knelt.

Over in the sister continent of Osyris, a military faction of liberty fighters who call themselves the United Liberation Front Rebellion have declared war on the Holy Empire, and seek to completely dismantle the governing body to free the denizens of Victoria from its iron grip. Using all sorts of inventions and innovations based on Manatech, the Holy Empire and the Rebellion have been at a stalemate for the last eight years. With casualties so great, the Holy Empire soon began the construction of two new type of vessels; Space Colonies, massive artificial orbital cities that would house Victorian civilians safe from the war; and Cradles, airship fortresses that serve as the Empire's military quarters and training grounds, as well as weapons of great destruction. With the entire world treated as its battlefield, it would be a matter of time before the Holy Empire's Cradles overwhelm the Rebellion forces.

Unless... somebody stands against the Holy Thermydorian Empire. For before the birth of the Holy Empire, heroes of ages past rose from the crowds to vanquish oppressive and tyrannical entities. Heroes chosen by destiny, called by upon the sacred power of the Earth Chronicles. But such tales have faded—relegated to myth, buried under centuries of ash and silence. Still… Hope lingers. That once again, destiny will stir. And from the shadows of war, a new champion will emerge. One not of myth…
—but of flesh, flame, and fury.
