GET TO KNOW THE DINO HOUSE

by Lee + HeroForge

Hey there. I'm Lee O'Hawk Temporary Raptor Captain, and the closest House Sauropoda has to a House Librarian.   Sauropoda is currently a Major House, which means we can stand on our own OR a MINOR House one may support us during Game of Tomes events. These events include Tourney of Tales in April and July, and the Word Wars (aka Game of Tomes) in November.   (Full event rules are at the Game of Tomes homepage.)   Below is a quick rundown of our Protectorate and some of the Sauropodans you may see around our capital. There are links for continued reading, should you wish to dive deeper.

House Sauropoda Quick Facts

The Kingdom

Our House

House Sauropoda is for the most part, a representative democracy. The civilian government of elected officials, much of the structure of which is left over from before the awakening of The Iron Tome, runs things day to day and is responsible for all areas of legality not directly related to Literomantic defense. The congress does allocate part of the defense budget to House Sauropoda to fight against Tome zombies each November, though the majority of the house budget comes from agricultural revenue. A high percentage of the population are were-dinosaurs, particularly in the area directly surrounding Mesa Mitchell.

House Sauropoda by DaniAdventures/ShyRedFox

Our house crest is a Sauropod, one of a particular clade of dinosaurs. Our house motto is "Evolve", as a play on the fact that our house animals were thought to be extinct, but are not. It's often said that, like Sauropods, Sauropodans are slow moving but persistent. We don't always do the fastest, but nothing can stand in the way of a determined dino without getting crushed.

The Region

The territory of the Sauropoda Protectorate includes the eastern coast of The United States of America, at least the parts that haven't sunk underwater.

The Capitol

Though the civilian capital of the territory is Washington DC, House Sauropoda operates out of what was formerly Mount Mitchell, which has been renamed Mesa Mitchell after the top of the mountain was leveled in the latest Word War. The mesa and the surrounding town is a specially designated diplomatic area that is directly controlled by House Sauropoda, not within any of the states, though all of it is located in territory formerly controlled by North Carolina.

Thank you for taking the time to learn about our house. You may ask Lee O'Hawk if you have any further questions.   Remember to keep an eye on the travel warnings section from the GoT Verse notification system, especially when the zombie undead hordes are active around November.
