The Literomantic Games are an international competition of Literomancy sponsored by the Great Houses for the Tourney of Tales!
Game Details

by pch.vector
The Games are divided into ten equally-weighted events. The House with the most points relative to their population at the end of the Games wins the Literomantic Cup*.
Entrants are encouraged to participate in any/all events that interest them. There will be a maximum of 31 points for each event per participant. For the Filk event, entrants will only be allowed 1 entry that counts the 31 points for the entry.
Points are automatically calculated.
HappyHappySad is now the calculation spreadsheet wizard and event host. (Thank you, Happy!)
Auto Calcuation Notes
Auto Calculations Updated in November 2025
Shy updated the calculations to do the average per event per house then those averages are totaled. This way no one is penalized for just doing one (or a few) event(s).
Just like last July...
Each House enters their work in the same spreadsheet. No more having to hunt down the form.
Each tab in the spreadsheet represents one of the events in LitGames. An example of how to enter your information is in each tab, under the name "GliterMaster". GlitterMaster is not a real person and their points will not count for your house.
Each filk entered will gain your team 30 points (April) or 31 points (July). You entered = you get the points when you enter the filk. At the end of the LitGames, we’ll announce the judging of the filks, but they won’t be point-based.

FAQ
Can I enter a thing in more than one category?
Yes, if it fits in more than one category, go for it! For example, if you did an article and it had a Word of the Day or Short Prompt. Cool! Mark it for both!
Can I use a transcribed article? (For example: creating an article for an already written filk or adding to an established universe wiki with already created material)
Yes. (Shy: I'd originally said no. But Sable and I had to chat about it. I don't want to penalize people for doing a public service. So I'm reversing my ruling to allow it.)
Can I add to an existing article or article stubb, or does it have to be from scratch?
Yes, you can add to an existing article with a few rules: You must add at least 300 new drafted words to the existing body of the article OR you must completely replace or add more than 50% of the article's body content. In addition, you must not have used the existing article in a previous LitGames. As long as both of these criteria are met, you may use the existing article for a LitGames submission. (Happy: I made this ruling in the April 26 LitGames for much of the same reasons Shy said above. Especially for our team updating the Game of Tomes website with lore and other articles, we don't want to penalize people for their public service)
Can I put a number in the cell to count more than one thing (like 3 RP sessions)?
Nope. Each spreadsheet cell counts as 1 point (with the exception of the Filking event). So you'd use 3 cells to count those roleplay sessions. Participants may earn up to 30 or 31 points (equal to the number of days in the event month) for each event for their House.
For the group writing, does the other person or people have to be people from Game of Tomes?
Nope! Enjoy your collaborations outside of GoT, too!
Do the entries have to be entered on specific days corresponding to the date on the spreadsheet?
Nope. The only thing that needs to be counted daily is the word count. You can mark off days or just count up the days. Everything else can be done at any point in the Tourney.
