Tourney of Tales July 2025

Welcome to the Tourney of Tales!

The Tourney of Tales is a house based writing competition. We provide virtual write-ins with a competitive (but friendly!) spirit. Tourneys happen in April and July. They begin on the first of the month, and end on the last day of the month, in each participant's time zone.

Full rules and word counting instructions are posted on the Game of Tomes (GoT) homepage.

Here you can see the alliances made by the Minor Houses. (In other words, the smaller Minor Houses team up with a Major House. It's beneficial for both the Minor and Major Houses.)

Wignow Challenge

The Wignow Challenge uses Four the Words to rescue Wignow. The words are Paper, Standard, Desert, and Dust.
- The goal is typically to gather the same number of Wignows as the number of days in the Got Event month: 30 for April, 31 for July, and 30 for November.
- A google form will be available for reporting after the event.
- Upon request James can give you a spreadsheet to log them to help keep track for the final reporting form. This spreadsheet has the logic included so you can tell if you passed a level.

More Details

The sets are: Paper and Standard: Paper and/or Standard Wignows Desert and Dust: Desert and/or Dust Wignows These sets can be completed based on the Tome Knight's skill level or where they are in the game. The sets can be mixed according to your abilities. For example, someone might complete 16 Paper Wignows and 14 Standard Wignows to finish the challenge in November. Members are welcome to go over the target number of Wignows, and there are other levels to achieve, such as completing both sets or doing all the Wignows at the same number, which is called the "Lunatic Level." For April 2025, the challenge is to do the Birthday Wignow to pass. To complete the challenge, you’ll need to do ten Birthday Wignows.
