Chiropteran Embassy Okanagan City
Since the rebuilding of the Warren after The Fourth Word War, access to the lower floors has changed. You step into one of two elevators on the Warren grounds, which are constructed of literomantically-reinforced glass. Passing through the security check points, you descend. One elevator takes you through the access to The Glitter Mines, then the Tiki Bar, down to the base of the newly-built Warren Literomantic Library. Or, you descend the other elevator through the Molluscan Embassy access. Either way, from there, you can fly or continue to descend via elevator to the very deepest caves beneath the Warren, to the Chiropteran Embassy. The Chiropteran Embassy is an independent structure deep within the bowels of The Warren. The sovereign territory of House Chiroptera, it was built to accommodate the Chiropterans in the event that they should once again end up as refugees of the Lapin Protectorate. In practice, it is occupied for much of the year by diplomats and officials, and Queen TaraFaeBelle, a friend to Queen Sable and her family, visits frequently.
You find yourself in a long passage, illuminated by Chiropteran red crystal lights, which opens to a deep, dimly-lit cavern. Descending the stone you find yourself on an open cavern floor with craft tables laid out with all sorts of craft supplies. The craft tables are deep in a depression, and stone slopes rise all around you. Back the way you came, you can see the library through stactites above you. Before you is an icy pool, with a sign that informs you that this is the "Totally Bat Squad Training Facility." To your right is the Embassy Post Office, and behind it, an immense stalactite covered from top to bottom with books and lighting. To your left are the diplomatic facilities and personal rooms of the Chiropterans, visible through a cave opening by the bright red velvet carpet. Beneath the training facility is a hallway dug into the stone on the far wall, which leads to rooms intended for those who do not fly. And naturally, everything is crisscrossed with ziplines.
Sensory & Appearance
Most of the embassy is "constructed" of natural slate and bedrock. Most of its features have been built around the natural features of the deep network of caves beneath the Warren, perhaps even more so than the main body of the Warren itself. Lightining is muted or even dimmed. The air is well-circulated, but has a slight metallic scent, like wet stone or offgassing copper.
Chiropterans have decorated with multiple creative uses of their House colours, red and black. Most of the decor is simple, but elegant, characterized by tasteful antiques and a gothic aesthetic.
