Short and stout. In her human form, she wears glasses to account for her natural farsightedness.
Special abilities
As she gained control of her Literomancy, Cathryn could control her shifts between her human and bird form—a barred owl. She also has a half-owl form, giving her the head, wings, and talons of an owl with her human body.

Early Life
School was always easy for Cathryn. She was one of those kids who got an A on every test and assignment without even trying (or, conversely, didn't do the assignment at all, but passed the tests anyways). Her favored subjects were always on the creative side of things: music and writing. Despite being surrounded by Literomancers throughout her schooling, Cathryn didn't show any Literomantic abilities of her own as she grew up. Her parents, non-literomancers, were surprisingly supportive of her interest in both writing and reading stories. She had her own library card as soon as she was able to understand the idea, and weekly trips to check out stacks of books from the time she started school to the time she left for university. The First Word War and the awakening of the Iron Tome also brought about the first signs of Cathryn's literomancy—access to her owl and half-owl forms. Although she didn't have much practice with magic or combat, she pledged her loyalty to House Avis and joined the fight against the Undead Horde.Personality Characteristics
Motivation
Cathryn wants to help as many people as possible, however she can. This is what drove her to join House Avis in the first place, and to take on the mantle of Librarian when the opportunity arose.
