Glitterbloom
The Glitterbloom is a unique flower as it is the only known aquatic flower that thrives at being fully submerged in water. It also appears to thrive on Literomantic Power after it has been picked. What can be done with it is still being explored, it is a powerful tool or something to have fun with (guess it depends on the situation).
I was surprised to this field in my wanderings after... swallows hard Well, to find such beauty was a blessing. The iridescent glow caught my attention and I couldn't help but pick one. Little did I know what this flower could do when one used Literomancy. But now I do.
Description
The Glitterbloom is a vibrant, iridescent flower. Its petals come in various hues that shift from blues to purples to pinks. The flower's leaves shimmer with a dusting of glitter and are surrounded by silver leaves. The entire flower emits a soft glow. While individually the glow of each flower is soft (barely lights up my hand), the field itself can be seen from quite a distance away. This glow is what initially drew me as I was curious as to find out what was making this light. It appears to dim when picked but the use of Literomancy will make the glow brighter, at least somewhat. There seems to be limit how much light the flower can emit after it's been picked. I'm left wondering if this holds true to the field or not. It something to be explored as long as we can control the glitter explosion. I don't want to find out what happens if we get caught in one that big.
Ecology and Habitat
The one and only field Lady Wynter has found is roughly 500 miles out from Vancouver Island, on the seafloor of the Pacific Ocean. At a quarter of an acre it's not as large as most seagrass meadows that have been studied, it's still a decent size. When I first spoke of this field, I said it was near The Zafforza Trench but now, I'm not so sure. Measuring distances isn't a strength of mine, especially since shortly after I plucked a blossom, I was swept away from the field and dumped pretty close to Zafforza Trench. This was after I used some Literomancy. There was a slight explosion from the flower (one I wasn't caught in due to currents). I'm not sure if said currents swept me away or... I swear a whirlpool sucked me in. So, while I'm no longer sure how close this field is, rest assured that I know where to find it.
The Glitterbloom is well-established, gaining much of its nutrients from the sediment that it's rooted in. It has adapted to the cooler temperatures of the Pacific Ocean. While there a schools of small sized fish, such as the seahorse, there are no predators. The reason behind this hasn't been determined yet, though it's suspected that the glitter infused in this flower is a deterrent to predators.
On appearance, this flower doesn't appear to have any defenses but given what I have learned about it, I can't help but wonder. But if it does use the glitter to ward off predators, is this just an instinctive response or something more? I've never known flowers to be sentient but this is an unusual flower. Whether or not it does, I'm still left to figure out how the glitter became a part of the flower. It wasn't until I learned about The Glitter Mines was I about able to start theorizing. The top theory for how the Glitterbloom came into existence is that the drained lake ended up in the Pacific Ocean. The glitter from this settled on the seafloor and (perhaps) with magical help bloomed into the field Lady Wynter found.

The first explosion I created with the Glitterbloom I was lucky enough not to get caught in. But the second one (and the larger of the two) I did get caught in. I found myself floating in an oval space, white all around me. It warm but not overly so. In glitter I saw my home, the Aquatic Realm, and I saw the Undead. It all played out the way I remember, no matter what I did to try to change it. I lost my family again and again. Why was I shown this if I couldn't change it? And now my hindquarters are speckled forcing me to remember this always.
