    History

For centuries, literomancers have celebrated the Winter Solstice tradition of Tomesmas. In recent years, with the importance of Literomancy having been rediscovered, this tradition has taken on a lot more prominence in the wider culture.   At the celebratory feast following the Battle of the Warren, many of the celebrating Tome Knights broke into their traditional Tomesmas songs. Realizing that everyone had something to share, Tempest Kwake, then Eli Kwake the Filk Master of the Realm, decided to encourage everyone to compile their traditional songs into a single written document, which could then be widely shared. They were aided by a number of Tome Knights afflicted with The Filking Plague in this compilation.   The Tomesmas Songbook has been compiled in digital format, and is widely distributed among the Tome Knights. New songs are still being added, and the verses of Deck the Tome continue to expand as each House's traditions are collected.
