Don’t Write in the Iron Tome!

To the tune of It Came Upon a Midnight Clear

  It came upon a G O T year
But after the Word War was done
With Tome Knights resting from our mad fight
The peace just barely begun
When one mad House Leader rose and said
“Like, hey, should we have some fun
And write some filks in the Iron Tome?
The bun queen will surely be stunned!”   “But Master of Filk, please listen to me,”
James of the Owsla said
“We do not know what the Tome can do
What if we raise the undead??”
His wise words gave even Eli pause
To think of what their words can do
For word smiths writing in the Iron Tome
Know not what their words may brew   “Like, maybe we should be cautious here,”
reluctantly Eli agreed
“Here’s some paper I found on the floor,
And a pen for our words to feed.”
And so they sat and they filked with joy
A song that they sang out clear
And all the Tome Knights gathered ‘round
To join in their winter cheer   Regard this tale with caution, Knights
And always keep paper around
A keyboard, a pencil, a typewriter too
Whatever to write can be found
The Tome is ancient and filled with power
That none of us quite comprehend
If we write in it the wrong kinds of words
Who knows where the tale may end?
