Zafforza Day Spa and Thermal Waters
The Zafforza Day Spa and Thermal Waters is the premier Spa in Zafforza City. Frequented by Anassa JaySeaBoom and many a visiting dignitary, it began as a humble but thoughtful way to use the thermal vents located on the outskirts of Zafforza City. In the Molluscan culture of present-day Zafforza, spa services in general are considered an essential part of healthcare, and all such spas are fundamental to a holistic approach to maintenance of the physical and mental self. Zafforza Day Spa and Thermal Waters celebrates this important role in public health and hospitality.
Purpose / Function
The purpose of the Zafforza Day Spa is to provide the utmost in hospitality and holistic health and wellness support to Zafforzans and their guests. It offers an extensive menu of services, ranging through many different types of massage, skincare, and unique thermal and mineral water treatments. Zafforza Day Spa and Thermal Waters is proud to offer flexible treatments for all and any body type, celebrating the great diversity of Zafforza City.

Design
The front area and fore sections of the Spa are very square in nature, reflecting the exterior of the Spa building. Beyond that, they become more flowing in shape and design, in some spaces, resembling caves or underground rivers.
Much of the structure is made from non-porous stone and other water-resistant materials. Any wood materials are either naturally water-resistant, such as bamboo (technically a grass), Japanese cypress, or teak, or are heavily lacquered.

Entries
Located on the outskirts of an air-filled section of the city, the main entry consists of two wooden double doors, heavily lacquered to protect against moisture damage. Certain thermal-water treatment tunnels extend almost to the city boundary, and there exit into a water-filled area, but these areas are either partitioned off from outside access and still technically a part of the Spa, or have an emergency exit. The only other access points are emergency exits and utility access.
Sensory & Appearance
Upon first entering the spa, scents of Japanese cypress, citrus, and eucalyptus are instantly revealed. Further into the building, some rooms will also unveil various mineral scents. The lighting is maintained at a pleasant and relaxing dimness, unless certain task lighting is needed. The temperature is mildly warm, with variations provided in treatment rooms, depending on the client's individual needs. Earth and sea tones are pervasive, with small bits of bright color here and there for artistic interest or emphasis.
Architecture
The architecture is reminiscent of the traditional onsen of Japan, with additional technological innovations.
Tourism
The Spa is a popular tourist destination. Some visit to utilize the extensive menu of services. Others simply to take pictures of the traditional Japanese exterior. Even others come in the hope to try and see the thermal vents themselves. However, the thermal vents are located beyond the air-filled space in which the Spa is contained. They are outside the formal city limits, and their waters are piped directly into the Spa.

Environmental Effects
Located near the boundary of an air-filled space within the underwater City of Zafforza, the environment of the Zafforza Day Spa is humid. Some sunlight reaches down from the surface and through the windows and skylights, but grow lights and other strategic lighting are used to support plant life and to create a serene, healing environment.
