Avis Consulate
The only other Consulate that extends from the upper floors is the Avis Consulate. To reach it, one must pass through the Council of the Great Houses, and make their way past the Royal Gymnasium. A secure elevator takes one into the reception area, where everything is carpeted in blue and white. Bluish pine beetle wood features in most of the decorating, with arbutus wood for accents. The Avis Consulate an independent complex within The Warren. It is the sovereign territory of House Avis and was built to accommodate the House in the event that they should be refugees of the Lapin Protectorate during a war or other disaster. However, it is also frequently occupied by Avisian diplomats, Casters, and other officials of the House.
One first encounters the Regent's office, where furniture is designed for wings, and is upholstered in comfortable blue fabric. More pine beetle blue wood is used for most of the handmade furniture. A blue, white, and orange tiled wall with a security door leads into the Avisian living quarters. Again, one would find a barracks, this time in blue, with white and orange accents. On this floor, there is also a large lounge area that is suited to birds and non-birds alike, even featuring giant plants and living trees. The bathroom is perhaps even larger, featuring individual shower and toilet stalls, and two large, luxurious baths. There is also a long bathroom counter with a giant mirror running along its length. Stacked on top of this floor, like the "apartments" of sparrows, are the living quarters of the Regent, Librarian, and space for the Casters. Each room not only has books and writing desks — as all the literomancer living quarters in the Warren do - but instead of beds, most of the rooms feature large, comfortable nests. Doors from each of these rooms open directly out onto a cliff near the top of Turtle Mountain. If one wanted to stop by and say hello, one would have to rappel, or fly. These rooms are a short flap of wings away from the trees at the Warren's summit. Sometimes, Queen Sable goes walking there, but even she would find it a Herculean challenge to get down to any of those cliff-face doors. Yet again, there is no shortage of books.
