Kitoypoy Character in Game of Tomes | World Anvil

Sir Kitoypoy , LSV

Sir Kitoypoy is a member of the Owsla, House Lapin's elite guard dedicated to the protection of Sable Aradia, the Chief Rabbit. He is a combat specialist within the Owsla, and is the most likely of the Owsla to be directly commanding Lapin Tome Knights on the battlefield.   He studied martial arts and tactics from his youth under the tutelage of Grandmaster Federico. He has studied arnis/kali, saber/foil fencing, boxing, Jeet Kune Do, and Muay Thai kickboxing. His love of sharp things is widely known and he always has a blade secreted on his person wherever he goes.   Kitoypoy is also an accomplished dancer, specializing in the traditional dances of his people and a variety of partner dances. He mixes magic, dance, and swordplay as a skilled blade dancer specializing in dual-wielding weapons.
Dancing and fighting are two sides of the same coin. Both involve bodies in motion together. When they’re dancing, bodies are moving in coordination and in opposition when they’re fighting. If you can do one, you can do the other.
— Sir Kitoypoy
Sir Kitoypoy was born in the warm southern islands, to the warrior clan of the Rajah of Tondo. He has relatives in all the worlds of the multiverse and can call on them for help whenever he needs them.   He loves a little too freely and has been guilty of giving away his heart too quickly. He has been married three times and has three sons from two of his wives. He sees it as his duty to make sure that his sons have the same training in fighting and dance that he has had.   Sir Kitoypoy worships the Rabbit in the Moon, drawing power from the moon’s changing phases. He is vigilant for the return of, Bakunawa, the great serpent that wants to eat the moon and the rabbit.

Mental characteristics

Personal history

Kitoypoy joined House Lapin to fight the Undead in the First Word War, and was taken by the Horde when the Warren fell. This has given him an overwhelming resolve to protect his Chief Rabbit from the Undead Horde, and he was enthusiastically recruited by James Woodwright as soon as membership opened.   He quickly distinguished himself among the Owsla as being aggressively protective of the Chief Rabbit, and soon became an iconic figure at her side, with his red ceremonial coat and his arsenal of pointy weaponry.   When Commander DM Stretch disappeared on a black op during the April 2022 Tourney of Tales, Kitoypoy stepped into the role of Commander. Not long after that, Queen Sable was poisoned by an assassin who laced her leftover chili with strychnine, and he poisoned himself resuscitating her, earning his Lapin Star of Valour. After that, he insisted on personally tasting her food himself.

Commander Kitoypoy was the first to suspect Lord Galakrond of being the assassin, and maintained his suspicions and his watchful guard on the Badger Prince even under severe personal and political pressure. He even found himself at odds with Captain James Woodwright over the issue, and almost created a diplomatic incident when two separate surveillance teams, one working under the Captain and one under the Commander, almost came to blows in the Meles Protectorate because they each thought the other had been suborned. The Queen reprimanded the Owsla for fighting among themselves, but no further punishment came from the incident.   When the Mother of Bunnies discovered that it was, indeed, Galakrond who had poisoned her, and that he had done so under the control of nanobots created by The Company, Kitoypoy was the one who informed the Void Prince of this, despite the Queen's fears that this would drive his already unstable mental health over the edge. She was later proven right when Lord Galakrond stole The Iron Tome , becoming one of two Night Monarchs and launching The Third Word War. Everyone expected Queen Sable to level some sort of punishment for this, but she didn't.
Kitoypoy was the first through the Tang Portal created in the rescue attempt of the Forgelings and the King Consort Realm of Music in The Battle of Kin Beach, and he guarded Sable Bright-Eyes as she held the portal. When she collapsed from critical Magic Drain, he used an agimat charm to shift her into her rabbit form and carried her unconscious body from the field.
