Void Pocket
A Void Pocket is a natural ability that seems to be innate to every Voidtouched person. In effect, it allows them to conjure a limited "bubble" of The Void in physical realities so that others can experience some of the elements of the Void without its risks. This includes resistance to the forces of gravity (down is still down, but personal will can override this), limited access to its various traits and powers, and above all, cool visuals.
Void Pockets have been mostly used for the purpose of celebratory "Void Feasts" that Voiders Anonymous have held for other Literomancers, especially during Tourneys, over the years. This practice was first established to counteract anti-Voider and anti-literomancer propaganda, but it quickly turned into a fun event that, for a while, was something of a tradition.
After the death of Tempest Kwake, the Voiders suspended the practice for a time, but they are in the process of re-establishing it.
Effect
A Voider using this power summons a small "bubble" of the Void into the reality they currently inhabit, which "buds" off of the Void itself like an ameoba. This creates a permeable "pocket dimension" that temporarily merges with the existing reality, meshing traits of both dimensions.
Mostly, this has been used for frivolous reasons, but a direct benefit of being within a Void pocket is that creative power appears to be easier to access. However, it is often more difficult to focus. "Cartoon logic" and stupid humour are established parts of Void feasts as a result, and chaos reigns. Still, spending time within a Void pocket can be an excellent way to break that Writer's Block.
Voiders do not have to be within the Void pocket, or even within visual sight of it, in order to maintain it.
Upon releasing the Void pocket, the Void energies naturally disengage from the reality they are inhabiting and merge back into the Void.
Side/Secondary Effects
Sometimes, lingering effects of the Void remain in the affected area after the Void pocket has dissipated. For instance, mushrooms that grew in a Void pocket summoned by Prince Galakrond will continue to grow if left alone. Occasionally a stray tentacle appears on something after Princess Sunny's pocket has vanished (almost always harmless, but disturbing.) An area permeated with Queen Sable's Void pocket may restore physical energy or speed healing for a short time. Most of these effects are impossible to predict.
Void pockets are also known to mess with the nature of time. Watches and other timepieces tend to malfunction, even run backwards. Sometimes people lose several minutes when they step back out into "normal" reality.
Because being within a Void pocket does not expose anyone to the considerable risks of the Void, Queen Sable has proposed that it might be possible to use a variant Void pocket to protect someone from those risks within the Void itself. Thus far, this has only been tested once, and only on a person who already had the powers of a psychopomp (dimensional travelling).
Manifestation
A Void pocket might show varying traits, depending on who conjured it and which layer of the Void they most resonate with:
Princess Sunny's Void pockets reduce visible light and are speckled with glittering points of light like stars.
Queen Sable's Void pockets limn everything in the area in a subtle, silvery moonlight or rainbow aura with starry sparkles. Seen from a distance, it appears to be a bright, silvery mist, or a mist rainbow.
Prince Galakrond's Void pockets permeate the area with an eerie reddish glow. Mushrooms are also known to spawn in the affected area, even on walls and furniture.
Mykola Lapin-Void's Void pocket is filled with subtle, swirling, psychedelic colours that spin in the air, mostly in shades of purple, pink, and blue.
Prinx Tempest Void pockets illuminated the area with orange, shifting light, as if in firelight but with no obvious source. It also raised the ambient temperature of the area by 2-5 degrees Celcius.

Applied Restriction
Summoning a Void pocket appears to be a relatively low-cost effort, as far as Literomantic Power expenditure goes, but sustaining it is more difficult. The longer a Void pocket is maintained, the greater the risk of Magic Drain. This risk seems to mount exponentially after a couple of hours. At least among the Voiders, however, they can help each other to sustain the effort, and share the drain between them if they choose to do so.
