Ailurusan Embassy Okanagan City

Between the first and second security checkpoints in The Warren's main hall, through orange-brown arbutus wood doors, is the Ailurusan Embassy. This is perhaps the smallest of the Warren's Embassies. One gets the feeling that it was originally dug in limited available space. This does not mean it lacks comfort or luxury, however. Rooms for Archon Mykola and Polemarch Senna Nightshade are noticeably absent. This is because they both have quarters elsewhere in the Warren, mingled directly in with the rest of the Lapin Royal Family.
Princess Rowean, "Inside the Warren: An Architectural and Tourist's Guide"
The Ailurusan Embassy in Okanagan City, situated within The Warren, is a relatively small set of suites (when considered in light of the entire Warren complex structure) that houses House Ailurus in the event that they should need to be evacuated to the Lapin Protectorate during a war. In practice, the Embassy is usually at least partially occupied year-round, as the Woodland Family Alliance spends a great deal of time together and often choose to interact in the same space.
The Embassy runs in a general horseshoe shape. The first room one encounters, off to the right, is the group bathroom, with individual shower and toilet stalls. The hall is adorned with paintings, these with a primarily Asian feel. A giant painting of a tora and another of a panda occupy most of the open hallway, which is carpeted in rich Ailurus red.   As one proceeds down the hall, one hears... the clucking of chickens?   The first room, just after the bend, belongs to Foxx. If one managed to get the door open, one would find a chaotic space so jammed with random stuff that the only space to move is the large king sized bed. There is a pot of honey, a block of some random gooey substance, a zombie skull (don't ask them where they got it,) an anvil, and about seven live chickens. They don't appear to be food sources... perhaps some questions are just better not asked. Everything shimmers with a sheen of glitter, and it is impossible to leave the room without a cloud of the stuff attached.   The room across the hall belongs to Novamoonlight. It is decorated simply in the same arbutus wood, with a few tasteful live plants here and there.   Next to Foxx's chaos are the Ailurusan barracks, with a similar design to the Meles one, except for the House colours.   Next to Nova's room is the room belonging to HappyHappySad. Peeking through the door, one might see numerous instruments and stage paraphernalia.   Next to this is the room claimed by Archon The Bard with Many Names. It is decorated with enough natural plants that it feels like a fairy forest, and the sprinkling of fairy lights enhances the illusion. Instruments of various makes and models occupy most of the remaining available space that isn't taken up with the ubiquitous writing desk.   Across from Bard's room is the Ailurus lounge. This one is open to all House members. It would be somewhat "cozy," except that one wall is entirely formed of the thick, bulletproof glass that surrounds the main Warren elevator shaft, giving it a greater illusion of openness. However, natural vines, and tall bamboo plants in pots, obscure the view from curious looky-loos who might be heading to the Warren's upper floors.   The last room at the end of the horseshoe belongs to the Feral Major, Barbarossa the Wayfinder. Dominated by an enormous comfy bed and mysterious cupboards occupying one wall, its most noticeable feature is the big dog bed in the corner, and a framed poster that extolls the virtues of dogs.   There is another door on the far end of the Major's room. This one connects back to the main hall of the Warren, just before the second security checkpoint.   Again, there is no shortage of libraries or books.

Purpose / Function

Originally, the Embassies at the Warren were built as "emergency accommodation" for different Houses who took refuge there in The Second Word War, and only later expanded their function to conducting diplomatic affairs between The Great Houses. As a result, they tend to have more of a feel of a "cozy barracks" than formal embassies. Although it was built after the fact, since Ailurus did not exist as a House in Word War 2, it was constructed in a similar way, since Archon Mykola felt more like it was an extension of family quarters. However, it is still considered to be sovereign Ailurus soil, and all the functions of an embassy operate there.

Architecture

The Ailurusan Embassy Okanagan City, like all parts of the Warren, is constructed underground, primarily shaped or blasted out of stone. It is close to the main entrance of the Warren, just past the first security checkpoint, so that the Pandas have easy access to the outdoors except while under siege. Decoration tends to woodsy and chaotic, and features the Ailurus House colours. The floor is tiled in Ailurus red, and most of the decor is formed of orange tile and marble, or constructed of warm, orange arbutus wood. The entire Embassy is permeated with a fresh, green scent of bamboo. It is located near to Prince Jean's menagerie and the menagerie is accessible from the Embassy as a secondary escape route.

Defenses

Like all of the Warren's Embassies, the Ailurusan Embassy can be sealed off completely in emergencies and is monitored by security cameras. The main halls are monitored by Lapin as well as by Ailurus, but all personal quarters are monitored directly by Ailurus from the Feral Major's quarters.

History

When Archon Mykola formed her new House, space for Ailurus was constructed as close to the front entrance as reasonably possible, directly off of the main entrance hall of the Warren.

Tourism

The Woodlander Embassies at the Warren, being primarily living quarters, are closed off to casual tourists as a general rule. Woodlander delegations tend to receive guests in the Bunnycomb or the Warren's many diplomatic conference rooms.
