Turn Undead
Was that Turn Undead?! Did we just see Turn Undead? That's some D&D shit goin' on! Did you know she could Turn Undead?!Turn Undead is a spell effect that was manifested by Queen Sable Aradia in the Battle of Kin Beach of the Third Word War. The initial spell had significant and dramatic effects on Undead present in a large area of effect. Since then, the Bunny Queen has manifested a lesser ability to repel small groups of Undead in a limited ray of effect. The first manifestation is thought to have been accidentally triggered by Queen Sable's grief and rage over the loss of her daughter, Princess Monkey Meles, in the battle, possibly combined with Magical Backlash from the collapse of the Tang Portal generated by Prinx Tempest. The ability to harness the lesser "ray" effect may have been triggered by this event. She has since used this ability in the Battle of Mount Mitchell against Foxx and in her duel against Lord GalaWight, against a group of Zombies in The Glitter Mines during The Glitter Raid, and against James Woodwright while undead during The Battle of Zafforza City in 4WW. There may be others, but these four incidents were reliably documented.
Effect
To this day, no one is sure what happened next. Queen Sable, who was on location leading the rescue attempt, let out a primal scream, and then a massive explosion of Literomantic Power. There was a blinding white light, and all the undead disappeared. "Regular" zombies were reduced to ash and Tome Zombies were repelled in a 200m radius from Sable. Casualties were estimated at roughly 2500 zombies. She then fell unconscious. This was later likened to a "Turn Undead" effect out of roleplaying games by Owsla Commander Kitoypoy.
Initial Manifestation
There were four radii of effects exploding from a central point, which is believed to have been the Tang Portal generated by Tempest Kwake or Sable Aradia herself. The first and smallest of these radii, known as the "Fireball" to Literomantologists, vaporized all non-Literomantic Zombies and caused severe burns on Tome Zombies. This field of Literomantic Power encompassed 200 meters from the epicenter, and a total of around 2500 zombies were destroyed. The second-smallest circle, known as the "Tome Zombie Exclusion Zone" to scholars, caused severe burns on non-Literomantic zombies and minor burns on Tome Zombies. All Void Conjurations in this field were also banished, and surviving zombies and Night Monarchs fled the area. This field had a radius of 500 meters. The second-largest circle, known as the "Healing Zone", healed all the living in an area of 1 kilometer from epicenter of injuries and certain illnesses. Reports include that of an elderly woman being cured of her heart condition, a roofer's smashed thumb being healed, and a man who was on work leave due to a spinal injury being able to walk without pain again. Old scars faded, and even repetitive systemic injuries such as arthritis and slipped disks showed marked improvement. Lost limbs, however, were not regenerated. The largest circle, known as the "Zombie Exclusion Zone", encompassed up to 2.5 kilometers from epicenter. In this area, non-Literomantic zombies could not approach for at least 20 minutes, and even the Night Monarch Lord GalaWight felt a sense of unease until he left the area. The radius of this Zone included the Vernon Regional Airport, which facilitated evacuation efforts.Other Manifestations
On a few occasions, Queen Sable has utilized what might be considered a lesser version of a similar power, although its manifestation is quite different. Extending her hand (or, presumably, paw,) she radiates what appears to be a cone of sunlight at the undead target. This ray effect repels undead, who seem to be unable to approach the Bunny Queen as long as the ray is focused on them. This was even effective against Lord GalaWight as the Night Monarch. Most undead targeted with it also experience crippling pain and a full-body burning sensation, although no visible burn effects appear.Side/Secondary Effects
Queen Sable had to be treated for critical Magic Drain as a result of the rapid expulsion of Literomantic Power after the initial Turn Undead explosion.
The lesser version also causes some notable magic drain if sustained for long periods of time. Queen Sable has primarily used it as a defensive tactic which buys time to disengage from combat.
Manifestation
The initial manifestation of Turn Undead was thought to be a nuclear explosion when it appeared on satellite footage. It was accompanied by a blinding white flash of light, followed by a subsequent "secondary flash" and blowback.
The lesser version, in addition to its "sunlight ray," is marked by a warm scent in the air, like sunlight warming the earth in spring, and a ringing noise like a warbling brass gong.
