Welcome to Lapin! Enjoy the chaos.... I'm AttorraRu, Lapin House Librarian.
Lapin is currently a Major House, which means we can stand on our own, or a Minor House may support us during Game of Tomes events. These events include Tourney of Tales in April and July, and the Word Wars (aka Game of Tomes) in November.

Below is a quick rundown of our Protectorate and some of the other Lapins and Lapinites you may see around our capital. There are links for continued reading, should you wish to dive deeper.

Our House
House Lapin is a constitutional monarchy ruled by The Chief Rabbit, who is currently Queen Sable Aradia, also called "Sable-rah" by Lapinites. "-Rah" is a title that means "royalty or chief."

Her Seneschal, also called The Rabbit's Paw, is the Prince Consort Erin Righ at the moment. The Queen and her representatives have absolute authority over matters of war, which the Lapin Protectorate takes very seriously, but otherwise, Parliament governs in peacetime.

We're not only bunnies, however. We welcome beings of all species and we try to provide a safe haven for all. We have a lot of cat-people, for example, and most Lapinites are human. His Royal Highness is even a werewolverine!
Uncle James is a tiger. Auntie Flubb and Uncle Cheetya are kitties, too. They're soft. They let me pet them.

We're known to be a friendly lot, and we value a sense of humor and having fun. We're curious and full of tricks, and we appreciate cleverness. We work hard, we fight hard, and we play hard. Yes, I'm sorry about the glitter all over everything. It's harmless, I assure you.

We're also very chatty. You may have noticed. The Realm calls it "Lapining" when we natter through a time we're supposed to be working.
You may also have noticed all the bunnies underfoot. You'll even find some bunny cryptids here and there. They seem to like it here.

The Region
The territory of the Lapin Protectorate includes most of pre Word War Canada, including the Canadian provinces of British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Ontario, the former Canadian Territories of the Yukon, the Northwest Territories and Nunavut, and the former US states of Alaska, California, and part of Arizona.The original Protectorate included Washington and Oregon States, but they were ceded to The Missing House after The Second Word War. California and some of Arizona were annexed by referendum following the dissolution of House Tiki.
The Lapin Protectorate maintains the Canadian practice of having two official languages: English and French. Government services in Spanish, Mandarin, and Urdu are also widely available.
The Capitol
The Royal Seat and the center of government is The Warren, which is a massive underground complex located beneath our capitol, Okanagan City. The Warren includes accommodations suited to all Houses, which are designated as Embassies and are considered the sovereign soil of those Houses. It's also the Royal Residence, so you'll notice a strong military presence.Our Leadership

The Lapin Family is large and is intertwined with the House Meles Royal Family. The Forgelings are the Queen's children, and the two Wererabbits among them (Xantos Meles and Jellybean Meles) are in the Lapin Line of Succession.

Affected Areas: This Evacuation Order is in effect for the following areas: Grampian Region, Aberdeen City, Aberdeenshire, Lapin Embassy District.
Instructions: You must leave the affected area immediately. Please try to have essential items such as important documents and medications with you. Assist your neighbours if you can. If proceeding to your designated Public Bunker, you may register there. If not, please register with the Registration Centre in Inverness, or online at the Lapin Evacuee Portal.
Please keep major highways and throughways clear for evacuees, and avoid using the phone to keep lines clear for emergency services. If you need assistance, please call 999 or 112.

The Wolverine Line passenger service is suspended until further notice. The trains are now reserved for evacuations.
